Abstract

1,085,315. Amplitude modulation. C.S.F. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. Dec. 3, 1964 [Dec. 4, 1963], No. 49251/64. Heading H3R. Modulating signals from source 28 which are applied via amplifier 27 to modulate the output of a modulated amplifier 30 supplied with a carrier signal from U.H.F. oscillator 29, are also applied via amplifier 31 to further modulate the signal in the output modulating amplifier stage 20. A negative feedback signal derived from the output signal via pick-up 22 and detector 23 is fed back to the amplifier 27. The output stage 20 is a multiple cavity klystron having the modulating signal fed to its modulating anode and the amplifiers 27, 31 may operate in Class A and B, respectively.
