Abstract

[Also in Division F2] To compensate for temperature variations in the length of a linkage from an actuating means to the fuel delivery control rod 21 of a fuel injection pump, the control rod comprises a hollow member 25 housing a metal rod 27 secured at one end to a coupling member 26 and at the other end to the hollow member. The coefficients of thermal expansion of member 25 and rod 26 are such as to compensate for temperature variations in the linkage length. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the hollow member (25) is filled with wax, liquid or semi-liquid, e, g. grease, and coupled to the coupling member (26) through a plunger (31).
