Abstract

1,084,122. Refrigerating. MAX-PLANCKGESSELLSCHAFT ZUR FORDERUNG DER WISSENSCHAFTEN E.V. May 14, 1965 [May 14, 1964], No. 20587/65. Heading F4H. Liquefied gas is transferred from a storage vessel to a oryostat through a vacuum jacketed riser tube 1 which supports at its upper; end the fixed valve seat 8 of a regulating valve, the movable valve element 15 of the latter being mounted on an axially movable tubular sleeve 14 which surrounds the jacket 2 of the tube 1. Elements 6 and 16 are provided for connecting the assembly to the storage vessel and cryostat respectively. Sleeve 14 is fixed to a ring 10 which is moved axially by rotation of a further sleeve 13 in threaded engagement with the interior of a casing 3. Sealing bellows 9 and 11 extend between ring 10 and parts of casing 3. The cryostat (Fig. 4, not shown) comprises an evaporating chamber having an outlet tube, which is in heat exchange relationship with both sleeve 14 and a radiation shield.
