Abstract

1,084,115. Masted lift trucks. LANCERS MACHINERY Ltd. March 20, 1964 [March 26, 1963], No. 11989/63. Heading B8H. A frame 3, pivotally supporting fork arms 1 at 2, is connected to the lifting carriage 6 of a lift truck by pivoted links 4, 5 and an hydraulic ram 11. The distance between the pivot points 7, 8 is greater than that between the pivot points 9, 10 so that retraction of the ram raises the frame 3 and tilts it forwardly allowing the fork arms to be tilted downwardly. In a modification (not shown), the distance between the pivot points 7, 8 is less than that between the pivot points 9, 10 whereby retraction of the ram 11 tilts the fork arms upwardly. In a further modification (not shown), the frame 3 is omitted and the links 4, 5 are pivoted directly between the fork arms and the lifting carriage.
