Abstract
1,083,985. Sliding doors. MATHER & PLAIT Ltd. Feb. 1, 1966 [Feb. 11, 1965], No. 5926/65. Heading E1J. A folding leaf door arrangement (Fig. I) has bottom guide lugs 3 running in a channel 4 to pass an impediment, e.g. a rail 2, and slide upward against a restoring force, e.g. a spring 12 or a block of rubber, the lower end of each lug 3 lifting on contacting the impediment. The lower end of each guide lug 3 may have a roller serving to lift the lug. Two or more secondary guide lugs, eg 17, 18, (Fig; 5) may be provided on the leading post of the door. There may be at least two secondary guide lugs 17, 18, mounted on the leading post of the door, to engage in and run along a secondary channel 22, parallel to the channel 4 and having flared ends.
