Abstract
1,083,953. Shrinkable plastic films. DISPERGER G.m.b.H. Jan. 19, 1966 [Jan. 21, 1965], No. 2477/66. Heading B5B. A shrinkable plastic film in band form is made by cold-stretching (i.e. at room temperature) the film by the desired amount, and whilst it is still in the stretched condition, winding it up tightly into an ordinary commercial roll. Apparatus for doing this comprises two pairs of spaced draw-rollers, and a wind on roll arranged to run at such speed that it winds the film tightly in the stretched condition. The stretch may be effected by a speed and/or size differential between the pairs of rollers, and/or by lengthening the distance separating them.
