Abstract

1,082,995. Arranging moulded bodies for stacking. SCHLOSSER & CO. G.m.b.H. Jan. 18, 1966 [Jan. 21, 1965], No. 2224/66. Heading B8C. Pallets carrying concrete blocks or other moulded bodies are raised to a position where the blocks can be engaged by grippers 10<SP>1</SP>, 1011, the pallets are then removed and the blocks are transferred to a surface 12 from which they are pushed laterally on to an assembly frame 31 from which a complete layer of blocks to form a stack is removed. In the machine illustrated the proper number of blocks is separated on the frame 31, within a frame 32, when a table 30, carrying the surplus blocks, is retracted. The frame has portions 34 interdigitating with portions 35 on a fixed platform. The blocks are pushed from the surface 12 by a pusher device 22 which thereby pushes the table 30 into engagement with the frame 32. The surface 12 forms part of a carriage which can be moved below the grippers 101, 1011 to receive the blocks. As the carriage is returned to the position B of Fig. 1 the leading blocks engage an abutment 18 so that the gaps between the blocks are closed. The longitudinally extending gaps are previously closed by the grippers 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP>. Where the stack is to be formed with gaps between the blocks, the frame 32 may be formed of three separable parts moved apart to space the blocks. Each layer is transferred from the frame 32 to a conveyer 50 by a grab 41 mounted on an overhead crab which is turned through a right angle during alternate transfers. The layers may be aligned by guides 46, 47. Alternatively the stack may be formed on a table which is lowered in steps, and rotated between layers.
