Abstract

108,290. Ward, J. A. W., and Grainger, T. J. April 20, 1917. Microphones. - Relates to a microphone of the kind in which rows of pellets 11 resting on the diaphragm 4 are loosely fitted in inclined cylindrical pockets 10 in a fixed electrode 5, and consists in arranging the inclined pockets so that their axes all pass through a point b on the axis of symmetry of the microphone, thereby ensuring gravity contact between the pellets and the e diaphragm when the instrument is placed in an inclined position. Terminals 8, 9 lead respectively to the outer gasket 7 and to the electrode 5, the inner gasket being of insulating-material.
