Abstract

8982. Turner, K.. M. April 11. Microphones are constructed with the carbon block 8 held in place by a screw 14 passing through it and en gaging with a nut 13 on the casing. Contact for the carbon block is made by a metal plate 11 having an ear for the attachment of a wire and insulated from the casing by the sheet 12. Carbon balls are held in the cavities 9 against the carbon diaphragm 16.
