Abstract
Sheet cellulosic material, e.g. paper, has uniformly distributed through it 1-3-dimorpholino-2-propanol, to reduce loss of strength with time at high temperatures. The stabilizing compound may be applied to paper at a size press between first and second drier sections of a paper making machine. Synthetic resins, e.g. phenolic, epoxy, acrylic or dialyl phthalate resins may also be incorporated in the coating of the pulp or later from organic solution. The present stabilizing compound may be used alone or in combination with those of Specifications 938,479 and 1,083,557 or U.S. Specification 3,102,159. The treated sheet material may be used to insulate electrical equipment, e.g. cables or transformers, as in Specification 938,479.
