Abstract

1,082,476. Optical gauging apparatus. SOC ANON DE LA FABRIQUE D'HORLOGERIE LE COULTRE ET CIE. Feb.11, 1966 [May 31, 1965], No.6243/66. Heading G1M. In apparatus for inspecting play in components e. g. the axial play of a gear wheel train 4 mounted between its jewel bearings 5 and 6 in a watch or clock mechanism the component is held by suction against a rotating support 7 beneath an optical magnifying system which projects the image of the gear on to a screen 1. A graticule 10 is provided as a measure of the amount of play. Further pneumatic means are provided for moving the components between the limits of play. A second embodiment is described in which three gear wheels are mounted in their operative relative dispositions on a movable support so that each gear wheel may be moved consecutively into the range of the optical system.
