1,082,068. Converting. LANCASHIRE DYNAMO ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS Ltd. June 20, 1966 [March 19, 1965], No. 11796/65. Heading H2F. An electric converter in which static switching elements are employed to connect an output terminal alternately to two supply terminals so as to sample the supply voltages at a switching frequency sufficiently high to obtain a mean output voltage which varies in accordance with the modulation of the ratio of the time intervals during which the output is connected to the different supply terminals, is characterized in that the switching frequency is an odd multiple of the modulation frequency, not lower than five. With this choice of frequency, unwanted beat frequencies in the output are avoided.
