In a vehicle seat adjustment linkage, carrier links 5 are moved, in relation to control links 18, so that pivots 23 travel in straight vertical lines, as cross-shafts 9 are moved conjointly along slideways 7. Pivots 20 are fixed in relation to rails 6 and 7 and shafts 9 are displaced by a screwthreaded rod (14) journalled in base member 4 and engaging a nut captive in frame (10, 13). Alternatively, the fixed pivots 23 may be provided on base frame 4, 6 and the slideways on seat frame 2. Rails 6 have flanges (6a) which support the base frame on slideways (21) for fore and aft adjustment of the seat.
