1,081,631. Hydraulic and hydropneumatic vehicle spring suspensions. MOULTON DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. May 3, 1966 [May 4, 1965], No. 18721/65. Heading B7D. In a vehicle wheel suspension system including a diaphragm-type hydraulic displacer unit operating between the wheel and the sprung structure to displace liquid to and from an hydraulic accumulator spring a wheel suspension arm 2 acts through a piston 6 on a diaphragm 10 of the displacer unit to displace hydraulic fluid through an hydraulically hard conduit 12 to a remote accumulator spring ineluding a chamber 15 of variable volume whose walls are constituted by a housing 17 and a flexible diaphragm 20 which may be identical with diaphragm 10 and whose flexion is resisted by a coil spring 19 acting through a piston member 21. The displacer unit contains a damper valve 14. A plurality of hydraulic accumulator springs may be disposed to act in parallel.
