Abstract
The adjustable suspension system for car wheels alters the spring characteristics in response to signals derived from traffic conditions sensors axle of wheel (12) is located at one end of a link, the other end of the latter being pivoted in carrier (8) of the chassis (7). The piston rod (14) of hydraulic cylinder (16) is connected to the link. The cylinder acting as a shock absorber. The chamber (19) communicates with fluid pressure control chamber (22) of the main fluid spring unit (20). The latter and an auxiliary are divided by elastic diaphragms (21, 26). Control chamber (27) is connected to chamber (19) via valve (30) which is actuated by a coil (31) operated by a signal from the generator.
