Abstract

1,081,516. Gas filter. DUST CONTROL EQUIPMENT Ltd. July 29, 1966 [Aug. 26, 1965], No. 36615/65. Heading BIT. [Also in Division E2] In a gas filter in which a plurality of flat filter bags 6 are arranged with their outlets 11 sealed in slots in a wall 5 which divides their common housing, a tubular header 12 of similar cross-section to the bag is secured to wall 5 round each bag mouth in a readily detachable manner to facilitate removal of headers and bags when an access door (4) is opened (Fig. 1, not shown). The bags have internal openwork supports 13 and may be cleaned by shaking or by a reverse flow of gas as in Specification 1,081,515, and the housing has a dust outlet valve (9). As shown, the header 12 has upper and lower lugs 22, 23, which are slotted to engage over screw heads 25a which hold horizontal support bars 18, 20 in place. The upper lug hooks under a bracket 24a, and lower lug 23 is engaged by a toggle clip 27, 29 (Fig. 3, not shown), comprising a U-shaped wire pivoted in support bar 20 and a plate 29 with upstanding side wings which abut header 12 and lug 23 when the clip is pushed up to hold the header in place. The mouth of the bag is turned over a rubber ring 17 and is compressed between wall 5 and flange 16 of internal support 13 when header 12 is held in position. Header 12 could alternatively be held by two toggle clips at the top and bottom.
