Abstract
1, 081, 486. Automatic temperature control. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug.14, 1964 [Sept. 3, 1963], No.34833/63. Heading G3R. An automatic temperature control system whereby the temperature of a body 1 of semiconductor material is maintained constant during operation comprises a thermocouple 7 and an electric heating element 9 associated with the semi-conductor body 1, the output of the thermocouple 7 being fed to a control unit 11 so as to control the flow of current to the heating element 9. The thermocouple 7 may be replaced by another type of temperature sensor and the heating element 9 with other types of heating or, if necessary, a refrigerating element, possibly of the dissimilar junction type.
