Abstract
A dispersion of Al or an alloy thereof with Zn, Mg, Cr, Ti or Ni, in a solution of a polymeric material in an organic solvent is applied to a ferrous surface by immersion, spraying or brushing, heated to 300 to 350 DEG C. to drive off the binder, and then heated to 650 to 700 DEG C. to aluminize the ferrous surface.
