Abstract
1,079,727. Automatic control of high frequency apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 29, 1966 [July 2, 1965], No. 29119/66. Heading G3R. To increase the range of adjustment of a high frequency heating circuit comprising an oscillator tube 1 whose grid voltage is adjusted by another tube 14 responsive to the load voltage, the output of an additional tube 28 is connected in series with the tube 14, and the input is derived from the tube 1 by means of an impedance either in the anode A. C. circuit, or cathode circuit, such as a resistor 29, the voltage across which is chopped in unit 30, then transformed and rectified before being applied to the grid of tube 28. Components 30 33 provide voltage matching and isolation. In a further arrangement the control voltage for tube 14 may be derived from a thermocouple in contact with a workpiece 10.
