Abstract

1,079,657. Endless conveyers. O. HÍFLIGER, and R. KARG. April 14, 1965, No. 16014/65. Heading B8A. Carriers 1, 2 on an endless conveyer are adjustable in spacing so as to be able to accommodate articles (not shown), of different size. The carrier 1 is secured by bolts 6 to outer endless conveyer belts 3, 5, and the carrier 4 is similarly secured to a single intermediate belt 4. The position of the carrier 2 relative to the carrier 1 may be adjusted by turning a pinion 14 (Fig. 4, not shown), thereby rotating the centre pulley section 4 relative to the sections 3 and 5. The driving pulleys are recessed to correspond with the spacing of the bolts 6. The level of the belts 3, 4 and 5 may be arranged stepwise (Fig. 3, not shown), to avoid damage to articles by the edges of the belts during a discharge operation. This may be achieved by using belts of different thicknesses or by having belt supports at different heights.
