In a pressure ratio sensor, such as for the use with jet engine compressors where fixed inletto-outlet pressures are to be maintained, the gas flow from the compressor outlet is fed to an inlet 6 of a convergent-divergent nozzle 2 and the inlet of the compressor is arranged at the outlet 14 of the nozzle 2 and an axially adjustable hub 4 disposed within the throat 10 of the nozzle 2 is provided with an aperture 16 through which a gas sample under pressure is fed through an aperture 23 to an opening 24 where its pressure is compared with the compressor inlet pressure at outlet 14 of nozzle 2 and the difference between the two pressures is used to actuate means to maintain the compressor inlet and outlet pressures. In an embodiment the tube 4 movement is effected by a rotatable and horizontally movable tapered cam operating on the end of the tube 4.
