1,079,180. Anti-skid attachments for vehicle wheels. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 2, 1964 [Dec. 6, 1963], No. 48279/63. Heading B7C. A detachable anti-skid attachment for a vehicle wheel comprises an elongated flexible member of poly-(mono-olefine) plastics (e.g. polythene or polypropylene) passing transversely across the tread. As shown in Fig. 2, the member may be a tyre gaiter having straight or toothed edges 7 and an integral buckle 6. Its cross-section may be rectangular, circular or elliptical and its surface may be smooth or patterned. The buckle may be of a different material.
