Abstract

A rinsing and cleaning agent of low foaming power comprises:-(a) compounds containing high molecular weight aliphatic-aromatic residues and polyalkylene-oxy residues, more than 50% mol of the latter consisting of ethylene-oxy units, while a smaller molar percentage may consist of propylene and/or butylene-oxy units, (b) compounds of the general formula A1.X.A2, wherein A1 and A2 represent the residue of a polyalkylene-oxy compound according to (a) without the terminal hydroxy group, X represents an ether oxygen atom or a bridge member in the form of a divalent inorganic radical or an organic radical possibly containing hetero atoms or hetero-atom groups with the exception of an acetal or ketal group and (c) compounds containing high molecular weight aliphatic or aliphatic-aromatic residues as well as polyalkylene-oxy residues which latter consist of at least 50% mol of propylene-oxy and/or butylene-oxy units, while an equal or smaller molar percentage may consist of ethylene-oxy units. The rinsing and cleaning agent may also contain lower aliphatic alcohols.
