Abstract

107,862. Nicholson, S. V. Aug. 28, 1916. Worm conveyers and elevators.-Apparatus for loading cement, flour, &c., from storage bins into casks, sacks, &c., comprises a trolly 4 on which is adjustably mounted a worm conveyer 1 delivering through a flexible pipe 19 and hopper 20 into casks &c. 22. The semi-cylindrical supports 5, 6 for the conveyer casing 2 are pivotally mounted on horizontal shafts 7, 9, and the bearings 10 for the upper shaft 9 can be moved in vertical guides 11 by actuation of the screwed rod 12. A small worm 17 for breaking up the cement &c. is arranged over the opening 3 of the conveyer and is driven from the same electromotor 24 as the conveyer.
