Abstract

1,078,549. Protective arrangements. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. April 20, 1966 [April 20, 1965], No. 17378/66. Heading H2K. In a supply circuit including a power regulator or similar device S and a low-pass filter L, C, a relay Re responsive to over-current and overvoltage has its contacts 12 connected in series with a resistor R2 between one of the output conductors and the control electrode of a thyratron or thyristor D1 which is connected in series with a resistor R1 across the input conductors. When an excess current occurs the relay winding 11 is sufficiently energized to close the contacts 12 to render the thyristor D1 conducting. The current which now flows through the thyristor D1 and resistor R1 is sufficient to trip a circuit-breaker or to blow a fuse F1. Should the output voltage be excessive, a Zener diode D2 breaks down so that a winding 10 of the relay Re is energized to close the contacts 12.
