Shuttles; shuttles, changing bobbins in, automatically.-In a shuttle of the kind described in Specification 19449/13 for weft-replenishing looms, the bobbin-holding spring A, Fig. 2, the spreader C, and the bobbin-directing guide B are assembled and retained together before insertion in the shuttle, so that they can be inserted as a unit and held in place by the usual bolt D. The spreader C, shown separate in Fig. 6, is inserted between the legs of the shank of the spring so that a hole a therein registers with the holes in the legs, and the guide B, Fig. 5, comprising top and bottom plates e, d connected by an incline c, is placed with its plates over and under the spring and spreader before the top plate is bent, the incline b on the spreader fitting against the inside of the incline c on the guide. The sides f and end g of the guide-plate e are then bent, as shown, to enclose the top of the spring and spreader, and the whole is inserted in the shuttle so that the flanges h and plate d enter grooves therein, as shown in Fig. 4. The bolt D is then inserted and secured in the usual manner.
