Abstract
Aqueous solutions of Vitamin B12 compounds, especially solutions also containing Vitamin B1 compounds, are stabilized by adding hexamine or sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, ammonium or triethanolamine iodide. Up to 2% by weight of the solution, e.g. 0.2 to 1%, of the stabilizer may be used. In examples, solutions containing cyanocobalamine, hydroxocobalamine, thiamine hydrochloride, thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulphide hydrochloride and thiamine propyl disulphide hydrochloride, are stabilized with sodium iodide, potassium iodide, ammonium iodide and hexamine.ALSO:Aqueous solutions containing vitamin B12 compounds and vitamin B1 compounds, are stabilized by adding hexamine or sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, ammonium or triethanolamine iodide. Up to 2% by weight of the solution, e.g. 0.2 to 1%, of the stabilizer may be used. In Examples sodium iodide, potassium iodide, ammonium iodide and hexamine are added to solutions containing cyanocobalamine, hydroxocobalamine, thiamine hydrochloride, thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulphide hydrochloride, thiamine propyl disulphide hydrochloride, nicotinic acid amide, benzyl alcohol, sodium acetate, acetic acid, pyridoxine, sorbitol, sodium sacchorate, calcium pantothenate and glycerol.
