1,075,996. Extrusion granulating machines. O. FAHR. March 23, 1965 [March 24, 1964], No. 12285/65. Heading B5A. An extrusion granulating machine, particularly intended for granulating synthetic thermoplastic materials, comprises an axially adjustable knife mount 3, the multiple knives 4 of which cut the extrudate issuing through the perforations of a plate 2, and a collecting box 5 which diverges downstream and is provided with tangential inlets 7, 7<SP>1</SP> through which cooling fluid under pressure is admitted to follow a helical path within the box prior to emergence at a tangential outlet 8. The downstream face of plate 2 may be viewed axially between supports 6 for housing 3a.
