Holders, card.-A support for playing-cards comprises a holder carried by a rod b, Fig. 2, adjustable by means of a screw in a metal tube a pivoted to a support e, which may terminate in a pedestal or in a clip h for securing it to a table. The holder may consist of one or more pockets j arranged in one or more rows and consisting of U-shaped metal sheaths containing springs k. The upper end f of the part e may be forked and the tube a pivoted on a clamping- screw g, or a ball-and-socket joint may be used. In a modification, the pockets are pivoted on a central pin so that they can be opened out or closed fan-wise. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a card-holding block on an inclined plane and with a convex surface as shown in Fig.'6, (cancelled), the card grips being formed by grooves, sets of pins, or pockets q formed of flat pieces bent and secured to the plane, or by wires r arranged in two rows. In another arrangement, the inclined plane forms a desk, either on fixed or folding feet. The tube a and rod b of the holder shown in Fig. 2, may be replaced by flat pieces, jointed or otherwise. The device can be arranged so that it can be fastened to the fore-arm, either by a strap or by a ring. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
