107,588. Kennedy, G. C. June 26, 1916, [Convention date]. Sledge velocipedes. - A vehicle particularly for use by children and invalids comprises a body suspended by springs adapted to yield in any direction on a frame which is completely enclosed by the body except for parts which project through to the axles. The front wheels may be replaced by sledge runners and the rear wheels roughened to enable the vehicle to be used on ice or snow. The vehicle may be propelled by rocking the seat. Fig. 1 shows a canoeshaped body supported by four inclined springs 22, 26 from the upper ends of tubular standards 4, 12 connected to axles 3, 8. The standard 12 is fixed to a longitudinal tube 14, but the standard 4 is free to turn and has lateral stirrups 6 to enable the occupant to steer the vehicle by foot. A seat 19 capable of rocking on a transverse shaft 18 has an arm 17 connected by a rod 15 to a crank on the rear axle.
