Abstract

1,075,813. Moulding hollow articles. LONDON RUBBER CO. Ltd. Oct. 21, 1965 [Feb. 11, 1965], No. 6020/65. Heading B5A. A hollow article of elastomeric material, of a shape including a closed loop, is produced by applying a coating of elastomeric material to a former 10 having a closed loop form which is divided or split at one point of the loop, and removing the article therefrom by drawing that part of the article constituting the inner wall of the loop through the said split. The former has opposed projections 11 and 12, the latter being split longitudinally at 14. When removing the article the split is slightly expanded. Alternatively a filler strip is located in the split and is removed with the formed article.
