Abstract

1,075,025. Screening apparatus. F. K. MOSENSEN. Sept. 28, 1965, No. 41236/65. Heading B2H. Material to be separated is fed down a shoot 10 on to one or more screen-decks A, B, C formed of inclined rods, adjacent rods being differently inclined so that the spacing between them increases from their feed ends to their discharge ends. As shown, the rods 1, 2 of each deck are arranged in two diverging planes and the spacing between adjacent rods in the horizontal direction decreases in successively lower screen-decks so as to separate out three fractions down shoots 12, a partitioned box 18 being provided below the lowermost screen-deck to collect three further fractions. The screen-decks may be mounted in superposed or stepped relation on a frame 14 vibrated by an eccentric 16. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the rods terminate at three different levels. The spacing between some of the rods may be greater than between others, Fig. 4 (not shown) so as to counteract the tendency for particles to move to one side during travel over the rods. If desired, the rods may be arranged to produce a staggering movement of the particles during the travel. In Fig. 6 (not shown), the rods are divided along their lengths.
