A television receiving apparatus includes two or more picture reproducing screens each with an associated sound reproducer capable of reproducing independent television transmissions, the screens being so arranged relatively to each other that no two screens face in the same direction. Thus an arrangement of two reproducing screens &c. may take the forms depicted in Fig. 1 (not shown), the associated sound reproducers (loud-speakers) (22), (24), preferably, having directional characteristics. An arrangement of six screens may take the hexagonal form of Fig. 2 (not shown). Headphones may, alternatively, or additionally be employed and extension loud-speakers appropriately positioned may be utilized to enhancethe separation of the sound. Certain items such as the mains transformer and some of the circuitry may be common to more than one receiving unit each of which is provided, with its own set of controls.
