Abstract

1,072,376. Mattresses &c. A. P. HENNESSY. March 30, 1966 [Jan. 8, 1965], No. 870/65. Heading A4M. A mattress (10) or pad incorporates zigzag ducts (12) through which heated air is circulated in a closed path by a motor driven fan (32) which drives the air through a coil (24) surrounding an electrical heating element (28) before the air enters the mattress. The ducts may be of flexible, plastics tube and may be perforated or air pervious. The mattress may be of foamed rubber with the ducts preformed or moulded therein. The air temperature may be thermostatically controlled.
