Abstract

1,071,629. Road rollers. LAMBERT ENGINEERING CO. (GLASGOW) Ltd. Nov. 30, 1965 [Dec. 9, 1964], No. 50190/64. Heading A1B. A pneumatic-tyred road roller comprising three steerable wheels 11 and four driven wheels 13 is provided with a rigid roller member 18 which is displaceable vertically by hydraulic rams 19 between a raised inoperative position and a lowered position wherein the wheels 13 are raised from the ground. The wheels 13 are driven by a diesel engine 14 through a torque convertor 15, gearbox 16 and chain drive 17. The roller member 18 is driven by a hydraulic motor 20 supplied from an engine-driven pump.
