Abstract

107,158. August, J. R. C. Nov. 22, 1916. Metal-heating furnaces.-A furnace for heating rivets and other articles, of the kind in which the articles pass along an inclined shoot from the inlet to the outlet, is constructed with a bridge 5, 6, covering the shoot 2 and heating floor 3, and forming the floor of a flue 8 along which the heating gases finally pass. The heating gases first pass from the fire through openings at the sides of the floor. The fuel inlet 12 is on the same side as the inlet for the articles to be heated, and the ash or refuse outlet 13 on the same side as the outlet 4 for the articles.
