Abstract

Lauryloxy - propylene - succinoyldioxypropylene acetate is prepared by reacting acetate is prepared by reacting lauric acid with propon-1,2-diol and succinic acid, and treating the product with acetic acid.ALSO:Polymers of vinyl chloride or copolymers of vinylchloride/vinyl acetate are plasticized by incorporating a succinic acid ester of formula C-B-(A-B)n-D wherein A represents a succinoyl radical, B a branched alkane diol radical, C an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid radical (1-4 C), D an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid radical (8-14 C) and n a number not greater than 2. Lauryloxy-propylene - succinoyldioxy - propylene acetate, lauryloxy - s - butylene - succinoyldioxy - sbutylene propionate, lauryloxy-2,5-hexylene-succinoyldioxy -2,5-hexylene acetate and lauroyloxy - s - butylene - bis(succinoyldioxy - sbutylene) acetate are specified in examples; added as stabilizers are barium-cadmium laurate, epoxy plasticizer and sodium-barium organophosphate.
