Abstract

1,070,892. Coating apparatus. FIA-WERKSTATTEN ERICH FEINE. Dec. 2, 1965 [Dec. 4, 1964], No. 51209/65. Heading B2L. [Also in Division B4] A hand liquid applying roller comprises a replaceable roller element 1 mounted by means of two resilient arms 4 having axle journals 9, the arms together with a handle 3 forming a one-piece plastics bowed member provided with reinforcing ribs 7, and a crossbar 5 which is formed as a shallow triangle having a base rib 6 connecting the resilient arms. The base rib 6 is preferably at least as long as the clearance between the ends of the journals 9 and the arms preferably have stop collars 8 thereon. The handle 3 may have a thumb recess 10 and a projection 11 preferably forms a hook-like slot to enable the roller to be supported on the rim of a pail. The roller element 1 may consist of a core having bushings and an outer fibre covering, the core being of impregnated cardboard or formed of a cardboard tube closed by plastics discs having brushings for the journals 9.
