1,070,540. Battery testing arrangements. CRYPTON EQUIPMENT Ltd. Dec. 2, 1964 [Dec. 30, 1963], No. 51214/63. Heading G1U. A portable arrangement for testing multi cell batteries of the lead acid type comprises a pair of test electrodes for insertion in the electrolyte of adjacent cells, the electrodes being spaced apart by a distance corresponding to the distance between the filler apertures of adjacent cells, and a meter for measuring the voltage between the test electrodes when so inserted. The test electrodes are cadmium rods surrounded by perforated ebonite sleeves and are locked in a handle in which one of them is pivotally mounted so that the electrodes may be positioned at varying separations. A voltmeter having a suppressed zero and an expanded scale in the 1À7 to 2À4 volt range is used.
