Means for fixing an electric cable to a support structure of the type comprising a body part 10, a clamping member 11 co-operating with the body part to define a passageway adapted to receive the cable therein and screw means 20 adapted to draw the said body part and clamping member into engagement with said cable while also securing the complete means to the support structure is characterised in that the body part is hollow and the clamping member is designed to enter one end of the cavity thereof when acted upon by the screw means which is passed into it through said body part, the cable being also passed through the latter so that under the conditions aforesaid it is trapped between the opposite end wall of said cavity and the adjacent face of said clamping member. In the construction shown the body part has ribs 14 on the internal faces of its side walls which engage grooves 17 in the member 11 and which guide the movement of the member 11. The end wall 12 of the body part which partially defines the passageway has an inclined concave interior surface and the member 11 has a correspondingly inclined concave surface; the inclination of the two surfaces means that the surfaces move closer to each other as the member 11 moves into the body part under the urge of the screw means 20. The body part has a through hole 13 in its base through which the cable passes to enter the passageway between the inclined surfaces and this is provided with a lip which in use enters an aperture in the support structure. The hole 15 through which the screw passes to engage a hole 18 in the member 11 similarly has a raised lip which enters an aperture in the support structure and which as the screw is tightened is deformed to spread it over behind the support structure.
