[Also in Division G1] A sealing and clamping head for supporting a tube 8 to be tested comprises a housing consisting of parts 1, 2 screwed together and into which the tube is inserted from one side thereof, a pressure medium being fed from the other side. There is provided a combined radially adjustable clamping means and sealing ring embracing the tube and subject to the pressure medium and comprising an annular body 4 of elastic material the end faces 4d, 4g of which coact with the faces of a cylindrical recess in the housing; the outer periphery of the body is recessed and in communication with the pressure medium by a chamber 7. The body 4 incorporates inserts 4e of metal or conventional brake lining material.
