Abstract

1,069,063. Vibrating screens. DANO INGENIORFORRETNING OG MASKINFABRIK INGENIOR KAJ PETERSENS FOND. March 24, 1965 [March 25, 1964], No. 12549/65. Heading B2H. [Also in Division B8] A device for cleaning a vibrating screen comprises at least one cleaning member 2 in the form of an elongate, flexible, tail-like body which is attached by one of its ends to driving means for imparting forced reciprocating movement to the member in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the body. As shown, a chain 11 connected to articulated shield members 10 is mounted on the surface of a screen 1 and moved across the screen by a screwthreaded member 8 operating on a motordriven leadscrew. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the cleaning member is moved across the screen by a pulley and chain arrangement driven by a motor (9) and in Fig. 8 (not shown), the cleaning member is also reciprocated in the direction of travel (3) of the material being screened. If desired, the chain 11 may be used without the shield members 10 and in other embodiments, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), the cleaning member is formed of a flexible material such as rubber or nylon and is generally triangular in cross-section; metal strips (16) or brushes (17) may be secured to the bottom surface.
