Abstract

1,069,047. Spray-producers. FRIEDRICH UHDE G.m.b.H. Sept. 11, 1964 [Sept. 11, 1963], No. 37300/64. Heading B2F. In an apparatus for producing granulated material, concentrated solutions or suspensions of the material are. sprayed from a closed rotating perforated drum 1 after being fed thereto from a supply tank via a feed pipe 9 and a motor driven hollow shaft 2 to which the drum is fixed. The upper end of the shaft carries an annular splash plate 8 and is in sealed connection with a feed tank 5 through annular seal 7 located between the shaft and a sleeve 6 forming part of the tank 5. The tank 5 is connected to an overflow tank 11 by a conduit 10 the level in the tank 11 being regulated by a drain valve 12 controlled by a ball-cock regulator. The space within the tank 11, conduit 10 and tank 5 is placed under superatmospheric pressure by compressed air admitted through a valve 13.
