Abstract

2,2-Dichlorobutane is stabilized against decomposition during storage and/or drying by admixing it with 10 to 104 parts by weight per million of an amine, epoxide, ether, acetal, ester, mercaptan or alcohol, with or without other stabilizers. 2,2-Dichlorobutane is also stabilized against decomposition during distillation, storage and/or drying by admixing it with an amine which has a boiling point above 90 DEG C. under a pressure of 760 mm. of mercury, or by admixing it with an epoxide.
