Abstract

Diuretic compositions comprise (a) a benzothiadiazine compound having the general formula <FORM:1068051/A5-A6/1> wherein R is hydrogen, benzylmercaptomethyl, dichloromethyl or cyclopentylmethyl; R1 is chlorine or trifluoromethyl, and the dotted line indicates that the bond joining the 3, 4 positions may be single or double, when the bond is single there being a hydrogen atom attached to the carbon atom in the 3-position and to the nitrogen atom in the 4-position, and (b) a phenoxy-acetic acid compound having the general formula <FORM:1068051/A5-A6/2> wherein R1 is hydrogen or methyl and R11 is bromine, chlorine, or methyl, optionally with an inert diluent or carrier. The compositions may be administered in the forms of tablets, capsules, syrups, or injectable solutions.
