Abstract
1,067,977. Scanning circuits. MULLARD Ltd. Feb. 11, 1966 [April 2, 1965], No. 14059/65. Heading H3T. [Also in Division H2] In an e.h.t. generator for a television receiver, current supplied to an inductor TF3 is interrupted by a semi-conductor device T2 and the semi-conductor device is controlled by a drive circuit which includes protection against arcing in the picture tube. An impedance resistor Rl in Fig. 3, or a capacitor (Cb) in Fig. 2 (not shown), carries the e.h.t. current. The control loop shown in heavy line contains a diode Df normally biased to cut-off at all times during normal operation. When excessive current flows in R1, diode Df conducts and suppresses the drive signals for a time dependent on the circuit constants, for example several line periods.
