Abstract
1,067,725. Photo-electric apparatus. ELTRO G. m. b. H. Aug. 4, 1964 [Sept. 13, 1963], No. 30854/64. Heading G1A. Radiation is spectrally analyzed by semiconductor type photo-cells arranged one behind the other in the radiation path, each one of which responds to radiation in a particular wavelength range and acts as a filter transmitting radiation outside the range in which it responds but within the ranges of succeeding cells. In the embodiment a silicon cell which responds in the range 0.6 to 1À1 microns receives radiation modulated by a modulating disc and transmits to radiation to a germanium cell having a range 1À1 to 1.8. The remainder of the radiation is received by a lead sulphide cell which responds in the range 1.8 to 3.5 microns. The cells are arranged in descending order of usable surface area and may be formed as lenses.
