Abstract

1,067,159. Wrapping machines. AUTO WRAPPERS (NORWICH) Ltd. Oct. 27, 1964 [Nov. 28. 1963]. No. 47040/63. Heading B8C. Articles 12 are ejected at B (Fig. 3) from the jaws 6 of a rotary-conveyer wrapping machine by a reciprocating member 7 which extends diametrically across the conveyer to co-operate also with the diametrically opposite pair of jaws 6 at A to receive articles. The reciprocating members 7 are operated by a common means consisting, in the form illustrated, of a bar 10 mounted on swinging links 11 to engage abutments 9 on each of the reciprocating members 7 in turn. The article is pushed into the jaws 6 at position A by a member 13, entraining a pair of wrappers 1, 2 which are folded round the article by the tips 6a of the jaws 6. At stations C, D the wrappers are then folded about the article as described in Specification 1,061,567. The invention may however be employed with packages wrapped in a single wrapper.
