Abstract

1,066,815. Pipe couplings. BARNES ENGINEERING (PTY.) Ltd. Sept. 18, 1964 [Sept. 19, 1963], No. 38272/64. Heading F2G. A connector, which incorporates a valve 19 formed with ports 21 and seated by a spring 26, has a series of apertures housing balls 29 threaded on a divided, spring ring 30 lying in a groove 31 so that the balls are urged radially inwardly into recesses in a spigot as described in Specification 1,066,816, and inserted into the connector. A sleeve 33 is advanced by a spring 39 to the operative position thereof to prevent the balls being forced out of the groove and withdrawal of the spigot.
