Abstract

1,066,725. Securing handles on spindles. HUGO HAUSSELS KOMM. GES. Aug. 24, 1965, No. 36252/65. Heading F2U. Door handles, adjustable to fit doors of any section, comprise a handle 1 permanently connected to a spindle 3 and a handle 2 frictionally secured to the spindle by a clamping member 5 axially slidable in the spindle and formed with a wedge 10 co-operating with an inclined surface 4 of the spindle. The wedge 10 is urged into frictional engagement with the unmachined surface of a socket in the handle by a spring 9, and the surface of the wedge may be roughened. The clamping member 5 can be retracted to release the handle 2 by means of a pin 16 inserted through large registering holes in the handle 1 and spindle 3 into a hole in the member 5.
